Wild Cherry Platter. Made from a piece of cherry from North Carolina. The blank had numerous cracks running through it, so I turned this fairly thick to maintain the stability of the piece. I then let the platter finish drying in a controlled room for several weeks. After the platter dried, I highlighted the cracks by scorching them lightly with a mini torch. The entire piece was then finished with oil.

This would make a terrific fruit bowl, or a bowl for holiday nuts. The cherry has lots of character and I don't think I've seen this many colors in this species of wood before.

1 7/8" tall x 11 1/2" diameter.  Sold.
