There are lots of diversions for all of us on the great wide web, and
woodturners certainly have their share of distractions. Below is a growing
list of places that I like to visit periodically, so I hope they prove
productive for you as well. The Wood Spinner -- this is my new video blog site, with demonstrations of various projects, techniques, tips, and more. The American Association of Woodturners My work is represented in the following galleries (that have web sites): Confluence Gallery, Twisp, WA Winthrop Gallery, Winthrop, WA A selection of other turners' sites: Bill Kindler (segmented turning, educator) As with any topic you can think of, there are a ton of sites out there dedicated to shaving. Pirate's Cove Soapworks was recently brought to my attention and I'm currently enjoying a bar of Tom's fine soap. A friend in the Tampa/St. Petersburg (FL) area has started a terrific venture recovering timber, much of which is diverted from the landfill. Check out Viable Lumber's site for more of the story, and pictures of some of the phenomenal wood they are rescuing.
