As with any topic you can think of, there are a ton of sites out there dedicated to shaving. Pirate's Cove Soapworks was recently brought to my attention and I'm currently enjoying a bar of Tom's fine soap.
A friend in the Tampa/St. Petersburg (FL) area has started a terrific venture recovering timber, much of which is diverted from the landfill. Check out Viable Lumber's site for more of the story, and pictures of some of the phenomenal wood they are rescuing.
