As you can probably tell, this is my favorite form, at least at the moment. Bowls, platters, and the like. This is one of the better ways to display the woods' subtleties and beauty. In bowls, the grain and figure of the wood combine with a form that is a part of human history ancient enough now to be a part of our DNA. Bowls have been crafted by cultures around the world for thousands of years. Successive generations have a wealth of knowledge and material to study and absorb, whether our progenitors were potters, metal smiths, weavers, or woodworkers.
