Split Rim Mountain Mahogany Bowl. Every piece of mountain mahogany that I turn is a voyage of exploration. The variation in the wood is tremendous, and even with defects the pieces turn out to be fascinating--as long as they don't fly apart on the lathe! This piece had a bark inclusion that fell away, revealing this sculptural opening in the side. Signed.
