Tasmanian Rose Myrtle Shaving Brush.
The lovely brush is turned from Tasmanian Rose Myrtle. One side has some stunning burl figure, grading into the more typical straight grain on the other side of the handle. Inset into the top of the handle is a cabachon of poppy jasper. As always, the brush head is made from the best silver-tipped badger hair. The handle is sanded to a sheen with 1500 grit sandpaper (ultra fine) and finished with multiple coats of tung oil. After curing, the handle is buffed through two successively finer grits and then polished with wax.
Brush head is 2 1/2" diameter x 2 1/2" tall. Handle is 3" long x 1 3/4" diameter; overall length about 5 1/2". Sold.
